This Writing Competition was inspired by the Afghan Youth Association UK (AYA UK) – a platform for students and graduates of Afghan background.
AATSA brought AYA’s Writing Competition to South Australia. The purpose of the Writing Competition was to discover the most captivating unpublished written piece. The Writing Competition provided amateur and emerging writers an open platform specially shaped to expose undiscovered talent. Hence, the Writing Competition
also worked as an outlet to encourage participation towards the world of literature.
The theme was Watan وطن
Students from Ariana Farsi School were free to write a fiction or non-fiction piece (short story, poetry, short essay) in Farsi/Dari/Hazaragi.
The finalist received $100 prize money
The top three would have their piece published
